Corporate Training

What makes corporate training actually stick

13 Jul 2026 · Briltus Team

The uncomfortable truth about most corporate training is that it doesn't change behavior. People sit through a workshop, nod along, and go back to doing exactly what they did before — not because the material was wrong, but because it was disconnected from their actual day-to-day work.

The programs that stick share one trait: the exercises use the team's real tools and real problems, not generic examples. When we run a technical training program, we ask for a sample of the client's actual codebase or workflows before we finalize the curriculum, so participants are practicing on something they'll recognize on Monday morning.

The second trait is pacing. Cramming a skill into one long session rarely works as well as spreading it across shorter sessions with time to apply what was covered in between. That's part of why we default to modular delivery — whether that's a few hours a week over a month, or a few focused days spread around a team's existing sprint schedule — rather than a single marathon workshop.
